Practical guide
A personalised name can become a focal point without making a calm nursery feel busy. The easiest approach is to think about position, overall width and colour before fixing anything to the wall.
Look at the wall from the doorway and decide where the name feels naturally balanced. Popular positions include above a cot, beside a reading corner or over a low chest of drawers. Keep letters and all other decor safely out of a child’s reach and away from the sleeping area.
Each character is approximately 8 cm tall, but its width changes with its shape. A narrow I needs much less room than an M or W. Arrange paper markers first if you want to understand the finished width before the letters arrive.
Start with one colour already present in bedding, curtains, storage baskets or artwork. You can repeat that shade across the whole name for a settled look, or use it every second letter and introduce two complementary colours between it.
For a soft nursery palette, Rose, Sakura, Cream, Sky and Beige work well together. Yellow, Lime, Orange, Blue and Red create a brighter playroom feel. The online palette is a guide, as screens and lighting can make finished shades appear slightly different.
Lay the complete name on the floor in the same arrangement you want on the wall. Check the order, turn every letter upright and choose even gaps. For a long name, a shallow curve or two balanced lines can use the space more comfortably than one tight row.
The supplied double-sided pads are designed for lightweight letters on a clean, dry and smooth surface. Test the surface, avoid freshly painted or delicate walls, and only press firmly once you are happy with the complete layout.
